Taste of Texas a Success! We kicked off our third season of Parties of Note on Thursday, October 2, 2008. The setting was reminiscent of West Texas with western music in the air and wonderful Western art and artifacts throughout this beautiful home. On a Preston Hollow outdoor veranda, a sumptuous array of cocktail hors d'oeuvres were provided by PARK CITIES PRIME. These tasty nibbles enhanced the wine selections donated by four outstanding Texas wineries - FUQUA WINERY, Inwood Estate Vineyards, Lone Oak Winery and Wales Manor. The evening ended sampling delicious sweets. |

The home designed by Fooshee and Cheek was built in 1933 for the very colorful David Harold "Dry Hole" Byrd who later married Mattie Caruth.
